For years, Cubans struggled to get affordable and adequate internet connection. Although most civilians cannot a!ord internet access, expensive hotels in Havana o!er wifi to guests who stay. When the 2021 Uprisings kicked of, the Cuban government put a ban on popular social media websites, like Telegram, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook. This caused a strain on the revolution, cutting o! the people from the rest of world. And, because of this, the people of Cuba are isolated without a digital voice. A way to suppress dissent.This concept centers around an exhibition that simulates a world with no social media, no communication, and full-on censorship of everything you search. The exhibit would provide a wireless connection to guests, but everything is fire-walled. And, if you search and post something dubious? A cast member escorts you to a holding cell.
