Fashion majors in colleges are often looking for cheap alternatives to create pieces for their portfolios. What If there was an event that promoted these students’ talents while also creating unique pieces that each had a special meaning and connection. Creating a new life for these pieces and mending the pain of loss is the purpose of this event. “the Mend Project” is An annual event that partners with local fashion designers where they are given articles of clothing from a loved one that has passed and given the task to upcycle it and create something new dedicated to that person. These Pieces would then be displayed for others to look at and then returned to the person after the event is over.
